Preparation > < Checking fuel delivery rate of metering pump V54

Test requirements
Test requirements
t  Coolant temperature less than 30 °C
t  Ambient temperature less than 25 °C
  Note
A higher ambient temperature can lead to errors as regards measured fuel quantity on account of fuel evaporation.
l  Sufficient fuel in tank (fuel gauge in dash panel insert not in red zone)
l  Battery -A- (vehicle battery) fully charged
l  Auxiliary heater fully installed and connected to vehicle electrical system
l  All auxiliary heater fuses OK as per current flow diagram. → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
l  Auxiliary heater switched off
l  Event recorder of all systems with self-diagnosis capability read out, cause of any faults displayed in the vehicle systems eliminated and displayed fault memory entries erased → "Guided fault-finding" function of vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051.
  Note
When doing so, pay particular attention to the following vehicle systems (dash panel insert, air conditioner/heater electronics, auxiliary/supplementary heater and data bus diagnostic interface -J533-).
–  Terminate guided fault-finding and switch off the ignition.
