t  Oil pressure tester -V.A.G 1342/-
t  Voltage tester -V.A.G 1527/B-
t  Auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594C-

Checking oil pressure switch
Test conditions
l  Oil level OK
l  Engine oil temperature at least 80°C (radiator fan must have run once)
  Note
Functional check and servicing the visual and acoustic oil pressure warning → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
   
–  Remove the oil pressure switch -F1- -brown insulation- and screw it onto tester.
–  Screw tester into oil filter bracket in place of the oil pressure switch.
–  Connect brown wire of tester to earth (–).
–  Connect voltage tester -V.A.G 1527B- with adapter leads from -V.A.G 1594 A- to battery positive (+) and oil pressure switch. LED must not light up.
–  Start engine and increase engine speed slowly. The LED should light up at 0.55...0.85 bar, otherwise renew oil pressure switch.
Checking oil pressure
l  Oil pressure at idling speed: at least 0.8 bar.
l  Oil pressure at 2000 rpm: at least 2.0 bar.
