Removing and installing particulate filter - A4 (all), A5 from vehicle identification no. 8T-8-009 999 onwards

Removing –  Remove rear noise insulation panel -2- → Rep. gr.66.

–  Remove nut -1-.   Note t  The nuts -2- are removed at a later stage. t  Disregard -item 3-.

–  Remove body brace → Rep. gr.40. –  Remove plenum chamber partition panel → Rep. gr.50.

–  Remove engine cover panel -arrows-.

–  Remove electrical connector -1- for Lambda probe -G39- from bracket and unplug connector. –  Move electrical wiring clear.   Note Disregard -arrow-.

Vehicles with SCR catalytic converter: –  Unplug electrical connector -1-. –  Unclip NOx sensor control unit -J583--item 2- from bracket and move clear.   Note Disregard -item 3-.

All vehicles (continued): –  Unplug electrical connector -1- for exhaust gas temperature sender and move wiring clear. –  Remove bolts -2- and -3-. –  Detach heat shield for turbocharger.

–  Unplug electrical connector -1- and move electrical wire clear. –  Unplug electrical connector -3-. –  Remove bolt -2- and move clear exhaust gas pressure sensor 1 -G450-.

–  Remove nuts -arrows- and detach particulate filter from turbocharger.

–  Remove nuts -2- (accessible from above) and detach particulate filter.   Note Disregard -item 3-. Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following: l  Tightening torques → Chapter „Silencers - exploded view“   Note Renew seals, gaskets and self-locking nuts. –  Install heat shield for turbocharger → Chapter. –  Plug in electrical connectors for exhaust gas temperature senders → Chapter. –  Install plenum chamber partition panel → Rep. gr.50. –  Align the exhaust system so it is free of stress → Chapter. –  Install noise insulation → Rep. gr.66.
