A4 Quattro Wagon L4-2.0L Turbo (BPG) (2005)
Before installing, center steering gear using steering centering bolt VAS 6224.

To do this, remove hex socket head bolt - 1 - on steering gear.

Move steering rack until center marking (indentation) on rack - arrow - aligns with threaded hole - 2 - Screw in steering centering bolt VAS 6224
hand-tight.

Apply lubricant G 052 745 A3 to steering gear where rubber boot for bulkhead is attached.

Position steering gear on plenum chamber (2nd mechanic required).
Note:

Make sure threads and contact surfaces of bolts are free from oil and grease.

Insert bolt - 1 - but do not tighten.

Swivel steering gear forward in direction of travel on drivers side.

Connect return hose and tighten banjo bolt - 2 - (22 mm).

Connect pressure hose and tighten banjo bolt - 1 - (19 mm)
Note:

Always use new seals for banjo bolts.

Pressure hose and return hose must not touch each other or come into contact with other components.
For certain engine/transmission versions, the banjo bolts can only be tightened from wheel housing.
