Switch on tester (arrow).
The tester now requires up to 3 minutes to finish booting.

Switch on ignition.

-

Select operating mode: Press Vehicle Self-Diagnosis selection on display.

-

Press 02 - Transmission electronics on display.

-

Perform dialog to confirm control module number belonging to selected system.

-

Select 08 - Read Measuring Value Block on display.

-

Choose Display Group 4 via the Read Measuring Value Block and Change Display Group touch screen displays.

Display on VAS 5051:
The first line of display field -1- displays ATF temperature.

Checking and correcting ATF level 

Notes:

ATF level is checked at the ATF check plug.

ATF level is correct if a little bit of fluid still escapes at the ATF check plug between 35° and 45°C 1) (dependent on the fluid level when warming
up)..

1)For warm countries 50°C

Start engine.

-

Raise vehicle.

-

Place VAG 1306 drip tray under transmission.

WARNING:  Wear protective glasses.

Once an ATF temperature of 35°C is reached, remove ATF check plug (arrow) and drain excess ATF if necessary.
