Windshield: Locations

Windshield, assembly overview

Windshield
-

Distance from roof dimension -a- = 6 mm ± 0.5 mm.

-

Center in relation to distance from sides dimension -d-.

NOTE:  Affix stickers on windshield (e.g. for airbag) in same position on new windshield.

Adhesive bead
-

Pay attention to curing times.

Note different distances from edge of windshield:

-

Distance from top and side edges of windshield dimension -b- and dimension -d- = 4 mm

-

Distance from bottom edge of windshield measured from inner side of retainer dimension -c- = 10 mm.

Bead cross section
-

Bead width = 8 ± 2mm

-

Bead height = 13.5 ± 1.5 mm

Spacer

Bond onto fastening strip, evenly spaced.

Protective strip
-

Only installed in new part.

-

Only remove after installing windshield and before installing plenum chamber cover.

Plenum chamber cover
-

Pull protective strip -4- out of fastening strip before installing plenum chamber cover.

-

Press into fastening strip after allowing setting time for glass adhesive.
