Removing and installing non-return valve
Removing and installing non-return valve
Removing
–  Use suitable pliers to open clip on vacuum hose.
–  Disconnect vacuum hose from pump.
  Caution
The vacuum hose must not be twisted or kinked. The vacuum hose must be renewed if it is damaged.
   
–  Disconnect vacuum hoses on both sides of non-return valve -4-.
–  Remove non-return valve from vehicle.
Installing
  Caution
Make sure that non-return valve is installed in correct position. Arrow on valve points towards pump.
The valve should allow air to pass in the direction indicated by the arrow.
The arrow points towards the vacuum pump.
–  Push vacuum hoses onto both sides of non-return valve -4-.
  Note
Moisten vacuum hose with water to facilitate assembly.
–  Fit new hose clip onto vacuum hose.
–  Push vacuum hose onto pump.
–  Close hose clip using suitable pliers.
