Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Long-nose grip pliers -VAS 6226-

Removing
–  Remove sump (bottom section) → Chapter.
–  Remove bolts -arrows- and detach baffle plate.

–  Remove bolts -1- and -2-.
–  Hold oil pump drive shaft -3- firmly with long-nose grip pliers -VAS 6226- and push shaft back against spring pressure.
–  Remove oil pump.
  Note
Oil pump drive shaft remains in position.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
l  Tightening torque → Chapter „Oil pump and sump (bottom section) - exploded view“
–  Check that the two dowel sleeves are fitted in the oil pump. Install missing dowel sleeves.
–  Install sump (bottom section) → Anchor.
–  Fill up with engine oil and check oil level → Booklet811, → Booklet812 or → Booklet818.
