1 - Nut
q   Renew
q   Coat with high-temperature paste; for high-temperature paste refer to → Electronic parts catalogue
q   Tightening torque and tightening sequence: exhaust manifold (left-side) → Fig.; exhaust manifold (right-side) → Fig.
2 - Exhaust manifold
q   Removing and installing: left-side → Chapter, right-side → Chapter
3 - Gasket
q   Renew
4 - Mounting strip
q   Remains installed when exhaust manifold is removed
5 - Nut
q   Renew
q   Coat with high-temperature paste; for high-temperature paste refer to → Electronic parts catalogue
q   25 Nm
6 - Mounting strip
q   Remains installed when exhaust manifold is removed
7 - Nut
q   Renew
q   Coat with high-temperature paste; for high-temperature paste refer to → Electronic parts catalogue
q   25 Nm

   
Exhaust manifold (left-side) - tightening torque and sequence
  Note
t  Renew nuts for exhaust manifold.
t  Coat threads of nuts with high-temperature paste; for high temperature paste refer to → Electronic parts catalogue.
–  Tighten nuts in 3 stages in the sequence shown:
  A26-10581
StageNutsTightening torque
1.-1 … 6-Screw in nuts by hand until they make contact
2.-1 … 6-20 Nm
3.-1 … 6-30 Nm

   
Exhaust manifold (right-side) - tightening torque and sequence
  Note
t  Renew nuts for exhaust manifold.
t  Coat threads of nuts with high-temperature paste; for high temperature paste refer to → Electronic parts catalogue.
–  Tighten nuts in 3 stages in the sequence shown:
  A26-10582

1.-1 … 6-Screw in nuts by hand until they make contact
2.-1 … 6-20 Nm
