Removing and installing exhaust manifold (left-side) Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Support bracket -10 - 222 A-

t  Engine support bracket (supplementary set) -T40093- Removing –  Remove coolant pipe (top left) → Chapter. –  Remove front wheel (left-side) → Wheels and tyres; Rep. gr.44. –  Remove front left wheel housing liner → Rep. gr.66.

–  Loosen nuts in the sequence -6 ... 1-.   Note t  For illustration purposes, the installation position is shown with the engine removed. t  Both mounting strips (bottom) remain installed.

–  Set up support bracket -10 - 222 A- with adapter -T40093/6- on suspension turrets (left and right) as illustrated. –  Attach spindle -10 - 222 A /11- to rear engine lifting eye (left-side). –  Partly take up weight of engine with spindle.

–  Remove bolt -arrow- for engine mounting (left-side).

–  Using spindle -10 - 222 A /11-, raise engine through distance -a-. l  Distance -a- = approx. 30 mm. –  Unscrew nuts, detach exhaust manifold (left-side) from mounting strips and remove. Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following: l  Tightening torque → Fig. „„Exhaust manifold (left-side) - tightening torque and sequence““   Note t  Renew gasket and self-locking nuts. t  Fit all cable ties in the original positions when installing.

–  Fit gasket onto studs. –  Fit exhaust manifold in mounting strips and tighten nuts → Fig.. –  Install engine mounting (left-side) → Chapter. –  Install front left wheel housing liner → Rep. gr.66. –  Install coolant pipe (top left) → Chapter.
