Evaporator Drain Tube: Service and Repair

Condensation Drain Hose

‹› This vehicle is equipped with 2 condensate drains (left and right on the air conditioner or center tunnel).

‹› If there is no door on the condensed water hose outlet opening -  A -, the condensed water runs over the rubber lips - D -. 

Checking

‹› Always check both condensation water drains. 

‹› Disconnect condensation water drain hose - A - and check the following:

-

Check the gap between the lower floor panel - F - and the insulation mat - G - installed in the center tunnel. There must be enough space for
condensation to exit from the condensation drain -  D -.

Check condensation the water drain of the A/C unit - E - for contaminants (e.g. using a piece of wire) and clean it if necessary.

Check the installation position of the floor mat, it must not constrict (compress) the cross section of the condensation water drain hose -  A -.

‹› For complaints of moisture in passenger compartment, check the following components as well as condensation water drains:

Water drain openings in plenum chamber => [ Plenum Chamber Water Drain, Checking, Cleaning ] See: Testing and Inspection/Component Tests
