Output Shaft: Service and Repair
Manual Transmission 01A

DRIVESHAFT FLANGE OIL SEAL AND GROOVED BALL BEARING 
(Final drive installed)

Refer to general repair instructions. Refer to "Sequence of Operations" as described below.

1. Driveshaft flange
2. Oil seal
3. Countersunk screws

25 Nm (18 ft lb) 

4. Oil seal
5. Cover
6. Grooved ball bearing
7. Sleeve
8. Plastic washer
9. Final drive

10. Large circlip
11. Small circlip

Sequence Of Operations 

-

Drain gear oil.

-

Detach exhaust system downstream of three way catalytic converters, and remove rear section.

-

Disconnect driveshaft at rear final drive and tie up.

-

Carefully press heat shield off left parking brake cable.

-

Detach parking brake cables (arrows -A-) at front and detach from the body.

-

Detach final drive together with crossmember I (arrow -B-) and carefully lower.

-

Remove crossmember I.
