Sealant application for guide frame, position of alignment bushings

Clean sealing surfaces, they must be free of oil and grease on top and bottom.

Apply sealant beads - arrows - on clean sealing surfaces of guide frame as shown in illustration.

The groove of sealing surface must be completely filled with sealant.

Sealant beads must stand 1.5 to 2.0 mm above sealing surface.

Install seals - 1 through 3 -.

-

Check whether alignment sleeves - 4 through 7 - are inserted at locations in guide frame as shown in illustration.

Installing guide frame

Place long bolts into inner row of guide frame.

-

Tighten bolts for guide frame as follows:

-

Tighten bolts - 1 to 16 - to 50 Nm with torque wrench.

-

Tighten bolts - 1 to 16 - 90° (1/4 additional turn) using a rigid wrench.

-

Tighten bolts for sealing surfaces of cylinder block/guide frame - dark hatching in the illustration - to 23 Nm in diagonal sequence.
