Power Steering Bleeding: Service and Repair

Check hydraulic fluid level and top off, if necessary.

Raise vehicle enough that front wheels turn without resistance.
^
With engine off, turn steering wheel 10 times from end position to end position.

Check hydraulic fluid level and top off, if necessary.
^
Lower vehicle
^
Start engine.
^
Turn steering wheel 10 times from end position to end position.
Note: If power steering pump does not run "free of noise", repeat entire bleeding procedure with engine at standstill.

Check hydraulic fluid level and top off, if necessary.
Residual air trapped in the steering system will dissipate on its own during driving operation after approximately 10 to 20 km.
