Open hood and check if vehicle has already been fitted with updated plastic upper idler roller by visually checking existing roller, if plastic upper idler
roller with cap is already installed, no further work is necessary.

Before raising vehicle on a hoist (wheels off the ground), first activate the vehicle jack mode. 

Mark the direction of rotation with chalk or a felt pen before removing the ribbed belt. 

Vehicle does not need to be put into service position.

To remove belt, loosen belt tension by rotating tensioner as shown (direction of arrow) using 19 mm box wrench. When the two holes are aligned
insert locking pin T10060.

Remove ribbed belt.

Unbolt upper idler roller -"1" using special tool OTCJ-48462 for access between roller and cooling fan assembly.

Fit the new upper idler roller, Part 077 109 244 H and lengthened bolt N 014 733 8 supplied in the Upper Idler Roller Kit.

Install torque wrench extension - OTCJ-48462 onto 3/8 torque wrench, set torque wrench to 28Nm.
