Charging System Control Module: Removal and Replacement

Energy Management Control Module

Removing

  ‹› While removing and installing, no charger must be connected.

If the energy management control module (J644) was replaced, select the "Replace" function for the corresponding control module in the "Guided
Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions" operating mode with the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B).

Select the function or path:

Follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnosis Tester display.

With ignition switched off, disconnect battery ground (ND) wire. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] See: Starting and
Charging/Tools and Equipment/Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

Remove ground stud - 3 - and nut - 2 -.

-

Detach energy management control module.

-

Unplug connectors - 1 -.

-

Detach ground cable of battery from energy management control module.
