Removing
-
Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.
-
Remove sun visor
-
Remove roof grab handles.
-
Remove upper A-pillar trim.
-
Remove coat hook.
-
Remove D-pillar trim.
-
Remove rear shelf.
-
Unscrew nuts -13- (6x).
-
Unscrew nut -15-.
-
Unclip wiring harness -2- at clip -1-.
-
Pull releasing lug -6- and pull off body-side connector -4-.
-
Detach airbag-side connector -3-
-
Unscrew nut -7-.
-
Raise wiring harness -2- and pull out bracket -9-.
-
Take head airbag -1- out of vehicle.
Installing
CAUTION: Always observe installation sequence of head airbag
-
Engage bracket -9- via elongated hole -10- in stud -8- and install nut -7-.
-
Engage bracket -17- in stud -14- and install nut -15-.
-
Engage head airbag in sequence in studs and install nuts -13- (6x).
-
Press on gas generator -16-.
-
Check that stud -8- is in contact with the rear limit stop of the elongated hole -10-.
-
Tighten nuts -7- and -15-.
-
Tighten nut -13- at bracket -12-.
-
Tighten nuts -13- (5x) consecutively.
-
Clip in wiring harness -2- at clip -1-.
-
Switch the ignition on.
WARNING: There must be no-one in the vehicle when the battery is being connected.
-
Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.

After connecting the battery observe the necessary measures.

If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) -K75- signals a malfunction after assembly, the DTC memory must be checked with vehicle
diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051, then erased and re-checked.
