Gradually loosen off the wheel bearing housing. Do not place the air spring damper -1- on the parking brake housing -3- or the stabilizer bar -2-.

Attach mounting T10149 with a wheel bolt.
^
Place mounting T10149 in engine/transmission jack V.A.G 1383 A and press wheel bearing housing up until the control position, dimension -a-, is
reached.
Control position
^
Dimension -a- for vehicles with standard suspension: 398 mm
^
Dimension -a- for vehicles with sports suspension: 378 mm
CAUTION:
^
Do not raise or lower the vehicle, while the engine/transmission jack is under the vehicle.
^
Do not leave the engine/transmission jack standing under the vehicle any longer than necessary.
Operations to be performed after setting the control position
^
The tightening torques of nuts/bolts and information on whether the nuts/bolts must be replaced => (layout of rear axle components).

Install air spring damper on transverse link.
^
Screw the connection piece -1- to the residual pressure retention valve -2-.
^
Install the wheel housing liner.
^
Install self-leveling sensor. The sensor lever must face inward.
