Unscrew the connection piece -1- from the residual pressure retention valve -2-. Air will escape when doing this.

Note: The residual pressure retention valve -2- must not, usually, be loosened or removed.

Seal both connections, making sure no particles of dirt enter the connections.

^

Undo bolt -1- of self-leveling sensor.

^

Unscrew nut -3-.

Press wheel bearing housing down manually and remove bolt-4- from air spring damper/transverse link.

^

Insert square timber in subframe -arrow 1- and support on wheel bearing housing -arrow 2-.

^

Press wheel bearing housing down with square timber -arrow 3-, until the fork -arrow-4- of the air spring damper can be detached from the rear.
This requires the assistance of a second technician to pull the fork of the air spring damper from the rear.

^

Place a folded cloth between the air spring damper and the transverse link.
