Release mounting strips in left and right side panels => [ Rear Bumper Cover Mounting Strip ] See: Rear Bumper Cover Mounting Strip and pull
off cover from vehicle slightly toward rear.

The right mounting strip is released by rotating clockwise, left side by rotating counterclockwise.

Disconnect all harness connectors to the electrical components and remove cover.

CAUTION!
When installing, a tightening torque of 1 Nm must be observed.

Otherwise, worm gear of mounting strip will be damaged and it will be significantly more difficult to remove the bumper.

Grommets for cover

Before installing cover, check that both round grommets -  1 - and oblong grommets - 2 - are pressed into side panel as shown.
