7 - Bumper cover

‹› Removing and installing => [ Rear Bumper Cover ] See: Rear Bumper Cover / Fascia/Service and Repair/Rear Bumper Cover. 

Disengaging support piece

CAUTION!
Never disengage support piece in the removed condition - danger of injury.

When re-installing the old bumper cover, the old support piece may remain installed.

When replacing the bumper cover, a new support piece - 1  - must be clipped into the bumper cover from below.

After installing bumper cover completely, pull down release rod in - direction of arrow - and thereby release support piece. 

‹› By pulling down disengaging rod, tension is released from support piece and reinforces the bumper cover against the crossmember.
