Insert camshafts into cylinder head in such a way that they are set at TDC ignition timing.

‹› Slits - arrows - at front in camshafts must stand parallel at same height with upper edge of cylinder head.

Lightly coat the face surface - shown as shaded area - of bearing cap with axial bearing (bearing caps 7, 8, 27, 28) with adhesive lubricating paste
(G 052 723 A2).
