If present, remove the fastening screws for the sound proofing.

-

Bring out the sound proofing - 2 - over the shift selector cable - 1 -.

-

Remove the selector mechanism and shift selector cable downward.

Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following:

Tightening specifications for bolts and nuts, and whether bolts and nuts are to be replaced, refer to => [ Selector Mechanism Function Unit, Manual
Release Overview ] See: Shifter A/T/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Selector Mechanism Function Unit, Manual Release Overview.

  ‹› Shift selector lever and selector shaft lever are in position "D".

Lift the vehicle.

Install the shift mechanism function unit on body.

  ‹› When inserting, the 4 braces serve as protection to prevent the shift mechanism function unit from falling out.

‹› If one or more braces break off, remove them. The shift mechanism function unit does not have to be replaced because of this.

Bring out the sound proofing - 2 - over the shift selector cable - 1 - on the cover of the transmission shift activator.

-

Install new lock washers - arrows -.

-

If present, install the fastening screws for the sound proofing with 2 Nm.
