Gasket

‹› Replace

‹› Remove protective film.

‹› Remove grease from flange shaft and adhere seal.

Driveshaft

Balancing Washer

‹› Not present on every vehicle

‹› Possibly located between a hex socket head bolt - 5 - and a backing plate - 6 - on the rear final drive

‹› If present, this balancing washer must no longer be installed after disconnecting driveshaft from rear final drive.

Hex Bolt

‹› Always replace

‹› 55 Nm

‹› Self-locking

‹› Always clean the threaded holes in the flange shafts. (for example, use a thread cutter)

‹› Use the counterhold tool Touareg V10 (T10172) and adapters (T10172/5) to loosen or tighten
