Drive Shaft, Removing from Rear Final Drive and Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Counterhold Tool (T10172) with Adapters (T10172/5)

‹› High Temperature Grease (G 000 633)

Drive Shaft, Removing from Rear Final Drive

‹› A twin pillar vehicle hoist should be used when working on the driveshaft.

Release clamps - 1 - and - 2 - and remove rear section of exhaust system.

-

Check whether there is a marking (colored marking) on driveshaft and at flange/driveshaft at rear final drive.

If this marking is not present, then mark in color the position of driveshaft flange - arrow A - to rear final drive - arrow B -.

Remove the mounting bolts - 1 - (quantity: 6) on the rear CV joint.
