Place drip tray underneath.

Remove the flange/driveshaft using the (VW 391).
-
Carefully press the seal in slightly at the top of the outer circumference - arrow -.
-
Then pry the seal out when it is sitting at an angle.
CAUTION!
Make sure the shaft seal running surface on the drive pinion is not damaged.
