Door seal, checking and adjusting 

Note:  Door seals which are roughened at the top of the A-pillar must always be replaced with new seals. The new door seals have no lubrication

coating in this area.

The door seal must also be replaced if a crease is formed when the seal is pressed from side as shown (arrow -A-).

The outward-facing lip of the door seal must seal against the upper edge of the window glass when the power window in the door is closed against the 
convertible top.

Note:  The convertible top is shown open for a better illustration.

When replacing a door seal, check for presence of moisture in filler -1- inside of roof frame.

If pressure is applied to the filler (part no. 8G0 853 265 C/266C) and moisture comes out, this indicates that the surface is damaged and the foam
plastic molding must be replaced.

When installing door seal, spray D 001 007 or equivalent onto corners in shaded area, as shown.
