DETERMINING SHIM THICKNESS

Required thickness of shim (A in illustration) is determined from calculating gap -x- based on measured variables l and m:

Table For Constant-k-

k = constant in mm, defined according to transmission housing and number of plates.

Variables l and m must be calculated as shown below

Place straightedge (A in illustration) onto outer race of one-way clutch.

Press piston all the way down in direction shown (arrows in illustration).

Measure to inner edge of piston using depth gauge (B in illustration).

Example:

Depth gauge reading - Straightedge thickness = Calculated dimension l
51.80 mm - 48.20 mm = 3.60 mm
