Cellular Phone Transceiver: Service and Repair

Telephone Transceiver

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Protective cap for cable connector (VAS 6223/9)

The Telephone Transceiver (R36) is located beneath the front passenger's seat in the E-box.

-

Switch off all electrical consumers.

-

Remove ignition key.

-

If control module is replaced, select the function "Replace " of respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding". 

Use Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051) to do so.

Removing

-

Remove front passenger's seat.

-

Fold back floor carpeting in area of E-box.

-

Disengage cover of E-box and open box.

The Telephone Transceiver (R36) -  1 - is only wedged in the E-box.

-

Disconnect harness connector - 2 -.

-

Pry Telephone Transceiver (R36) -  1 - out of E-box.

-

Disconnect Bluetooth Antenna (R152) -  4 -.

-

Disconnect harness connector to MOST Bus - 3 -.

-

Attach the protective cap for cable connector (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - onto the harness connector of the MOST Bus - 2 -.
