Indirect Ventilation Flap Motor
Indirect Ventilation Flap Motor
‹› Installed only in vehicles with "Comfort" version A/C system
‹› Vent for indirect ventilation is not installed on vehicles with " Basic" version A/C system => [ Instrument Panel Vents and Air Ducts ] See:
Description and Operation/Air Ducts in and to Front and Rear Heating and A/C Unit.
‹› Different connector assignments on vehicles with left-side and right-side steering
‹› Indirect Ventilation Flap Motor Position Sensor (G330) is installed in Indirect Ventilation Flap Motor (V213).
Removing
-
Remove instrument cluster => Electrical Equipment
90 Removal and Installation.
-
Disengage catch - A - and remove retaining bracket - B -.
-
Pull off Indirect Ventilation Flap Motor (V213) - C - from intermediate piece under center instrument panel, make sure that shaft - E - is not
pulled out as well.
-
Disconnect connector - D - from Indirect Ventilation Flap Motor (V213) - C -.
Installing
-
Check position of control motor shaft - F -, it must be located approximately in the position depicted.
-
Insert control motor on to shaft - E - of flap.
‹› Control motor must be inserted only in the position possible without using force. If control motor can only be slid on with initial force, check shaft
of flap - E -, it may be twisted.
‹› Check fitting of connection, there must be no play between control motor shaft and flap shaft.
‹› If motor shaft - F - is not in the position depicted (it can only be connected on to shaft in this position), connect terminals " 5" and "6" of control
motor via a 5A fuse to a 12 V battery e.g. using adapter lead => [ Connecting Adapter Cable to Activate Control Motors ] See: Service and
Repair/Procedures/Connecting Adapter Cable to Activate Control Motors (or an adapter lead from connector test kit (V.A.G 1594/C)). Rotate
control motor for as long until the shaft is located in the position depicted (control motor can be connected without initial force), the turning
direction can be reversed by swapping Plus and Minus.
‹› Control motor shaft - E - does not have a stop, it rotates continuously when voltage is applied to terminals "5" and " 6". Therefore, if control motor
cannot be connected, voltage should be applied only when the control motor has been removed in order to bring shaft into the correct position.
-
Connect connector - D - to Indirect Ventilation Flap Motor (V213) - C -.
