Removing
-
Remove instrument panel.
-
Remove retaining plate with control motors (V158) and (V109) => [ Retaining Plate with Control Motors ] See: Air Door/Air Door Actuator /
Motor/Service and Repair/Retaining Plate with Control Motors.

Remove retaining plate with control motors (V111) and (V300) => [ Retaining Plate with Control Motors ] See: Air Door/Air Door Actuator /
Motor/Service and Repair/Retaining Plate with Control Motors.

Disconnect connector - B - from Right Front Upper Body Outlet Temperature Sensor (G386) - A -.
-
Rotate Right Front Upper Body Outlet Temperature Sensor (G386) - A - approx. 90° in direction of arrow.

Remove Right Front Upper Body Outlet Temperature Sensor (G386) - A - from heating & A/C unit.
Installing
-
Check O-ring seal - D - for damage and proper fitting.

Insert Right Front Upper Body Outlet Temperature Sensor (G386) - A - on proper side into heating & A/C unit mount - E -.
‹› An O-ring seal - D - is installed so that Right Front Upper Body Outlet Temperature Sensor (G386) fits without play in mount - E -.

Connect connector - B - to Left Front Upper Body Outlet Temperature Sensor (G385) - A - and check routing of wire - E -.

Install retaining plate with control motors (V111) and (V300) => [ Retaining Plate with Control Motors ] See: Air Door/Air Door Actuator /
Motor/Service and Repair/Retaining Plate with Control Motors.

Install retaining plate with control motors (V158) and (V109) => [ Retaining Plate with Control Motors ] See: Air Door/Air Door Actuator /
Motor/Service and Repair/Retaining Plate with Control Motors.

Install the remaining removed components again in reverse order.

Check DTC memory of front A/C control head Climatronic Control Module (J255) and erase DTCs displayed if necessary.

Perform basic setting (and output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) if necessary) on the A/C system.
