Discharge Air Temperature Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair

Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor G261, Removing And Installing
NOTE: Installed only in vehicles with "Comfort" version A/C system
Removing
-
Remove lower left instrument panel trim:
-
Disconnect connector - B - from Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor G261 - A -.

Rotate Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor G261 - A - approx. 90 degrees in direction of arrow.
NOTE: If there is not enough room to rotate Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor G261 - A -, disengage air channel to left footwell - E - from
heating A/C unit (remove air channel - C - and slide air channel to left footwell - E - slightly downward).

Remove Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor G261 - A - from air channel to left footwell - E -.
Installing

Check O-ring seal - D - for damage and proper fitting.

Insert Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor G261 - A - on proper side into air channel mount - F -.
NOTE: An O-ring seal - D - is installed so that Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor G261 fits without play in mount - F -.

Connect connector - B - to Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor G261 - A - and check wire routing.

Install the remaining removed components again in reverse order.

Check DTC memory of front A/C control head Climatronic Control Module J255 and erase DTCs displayed if necessary. Vehicle Diagnosis,
Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in "Guided Fault Finding" function.
