Center Second Row Three-Point Seat Belt

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Special pop rivet pliers (V.A.G 1753A)

Removing

CAUTION!
Observe safety precautions for work on airbags refer to => [ Airbags ] See: Air Bag Systems/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Airbags.

Remove the bench seat (two-thirds bench) refer to => [ Bench Seat, Second Row ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Second Row, 3-Seater.

CAUTION!
Ensure backrest is engaged (zero position), otherwise it can tip forward uncontrolled.

Remove screw - 2 - for belt anchor/belt webbing -  3 - at seat frame, noting rubber disc - 1 -.

Remove cover and upholstery from backrest refer to => [ Backrest Cushion and Upholstery ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and
Repair/Overhaul/Seats - Upholstery, Covers/2ND Row Seat/Second Row Two-Thirds Bench Seat without Center Seat, Cushion and Upholstery.

Remove pop rivets - A - that secure seat belt cover -  B -. Do this by drilling out pop rivet heads.
