Remove cover from backrest mounting tabs - arrows -. 

-

Remove nut - 1 - from threaded pins - 2 -. 

-

Remove belt roller - 3 - from threaded pins and guide belt webbing - 4 - back when removing.

‹› Remove drill shavings and remaining pieces of pop rivets from backrest and seat belt.

Installing

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order. Observe the following when doing so:

CAUTION!
Ensure backrest is engaged (zero position), otherwise it can tip forward uncontrolled.

When installing seat belt, engage belt roller hooks in backrest cut-out.

‹› Replace seat belt cover.

‹› Allocate pop rivets.

Secure seat belt cover pop rivets with Special Pop Rivet Pliers (V.A.G 1753A). Align holes in cover with holes in backrest. Begin riveting from
center outward in a diagonal sequence.

Install cover and upholstery from backrest, refer to => [ Backrest Cushion and Upholstery ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and
Repair/Overhaul/Seats - Upholstery, Covers/2ND Row Seat/Second Row Two-Thirds Bench Seat without Center Seat, Cushion and Upholstery.

Insert screw - 2 - in belt anchor/belt webbing -  3 - and then install rubber disc - 1 - on screw.
