Steering Angle Limiter: Service and Repair

Steering Arm Boundary

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1332)

‹› Box end wrench insert (V.A.G 1923)

Removing

-

With vehicles with air suspension, place vehicle on hoist. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels ] See: Suspension/Service and
Repair/Procedures/Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels.

Remove front wheel.

-

Clean outside of power steering gear in area of boot.

-

Check boot for wear (slits, cracks) and check sealing surfaces of boot for dirt.

Open clamp and push back boot.

-

Remove tie rod using (V.A.G 1923).

-

Remove steering arm boundary - 1 - from steering rack.
