Checking Gear Oil Level in Transfer Case

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

‹› Used oil collection and extraction device (V.A.G 1782)

Procedure

‹› Refer to general repair instructions. Refer to => [ General Repair Information ] See: Rear Final Drive/Service and Repair/Procedures.

‹› When checking oil level, vehicle must be on a level surface.

Place Used Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782) beneath transfer case.

-

Remove oil filler plug - 1 - with ratchet 3/8".

‹› The fluid level must be at the bottom edge of the inspection opening.

Add transmission oil if necessary; specification.
