‹› The engine/transmission jack (V.A.G 1383 A) may only be used during assembly and must not sit unsupervised under the vehicle.

Remove transmission carrier bolts - 1 - and -  2 -.

-

Lower transfer case slightly.

-

Then, remove transmission support from transfer case bracket -  arrows -.

-

Remove bolts - 1 - and - 2 - and remove bracket from transfer case.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal.

-

On vehicles with air suspension, deactivate the lift mode.
