Driver Knee Airbag Igniter

Removing

CAUTION!
‹› Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

‹› Follow the disposal regulations for pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Pyrotechnic Restraint System Component Disposal ] See:

Service and Repair.

Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition switched on.

Remove the driver side instrument panel cover. Refer to => [ Driver Side Instrument Panel Cover, with Knee Airbag ] See: Body and
Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Utility Storage Compartment/Service and Repair/Storage Compartments and Covers.

CAUTION!
Before handling pyrotechnic components (e.g. disconnecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static
electricity ". This can be done by touching door striker, for example.

Disconnect electrical harness connector - 3 -.

-

Pull the locking mechanism - 2 - in the - direction of the arrow - and disconnect the electrical connectors - 1 - and - 3 -.
