Camshaft axial clearance, checking
Special tools and equipment required

Universal dial gauge bracket VW 387

Dial gauge
Work sequence
-
Perform measurement with roller rocker fingers and supporting elements removed. Center bearing caps for respective camshaft remain tightened.
-
Secure universal dial gauge bracket VW 387 with dial gauge to cylinder head.
-
Determine axial clearance.
^
Wear limit: (axial clearance): 0.10 mm
