LATCH Child Seat Anchorage

Removing

CAUTION!
‹› Observe safety precautions for work on airbags. Refer to => [ Airbag System General Safety Precautions ] See: Air Bag Systems/Air

Bag/Service Precautions.

‹› Before handling airbag units (e.g. disconnecting electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This

can be done by touching door striker, for example.

Remove front seat (passenger's seat):

‹› Mechanically adjustable front seat, refer to => [ Front Seat ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front

Manual Seats.

‹› Electrically adjustable front seat, refer to => [ Front Seat ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Power

Seats.

Attach front seat to Fixture for Seat Repair ( VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Front Seat, Installing on Fixture for Seat Repair VAS 6136 ] See: Body and
Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Seat Versions Overview.

Remove backrest:

‹› Mechanically adjustable front seat, refer to => [ Front Backrest ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front

Manual Seats

‹› Electrically adjustable front seat, refer to => [ Front Backrest ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front

Power Seats.

-

Disengage retaining strips - 1 -, - 2 - and -  3 - on back of seat pan - 4 -.

Remove cover forward from LATCH brackets.
