‹› Do not damage centering bushing - 5 - and seal when removing and installing in center of flange
7 - Bolt
‹› 40 Nm
8 - Lock plate
9 - Clamp
‹› Tensioning, refer to => [ Tightening Clamp ] See: Overhaul
10 - CV joint protective boot
‹› Drive off with drift before pressing off constant velocity (CV) joint
‹› Check for damage
11 - Plate spring
‹› Splines on interior diameter
‹› Installation position: Larger diameter makes contact on CV joint
12 - Gasket
‹› Replace, remove protective foil and adhere in joint
13 - CV joint
‹› Pressing off, refer to => [ Pressing off Constant Velocity (CV) Joint ] See: Overhaul
‹› Pressing on, refer to => [ Pressing on CV Joint ] See: Overhaul
‹› Grease specification: Press 25 g G-6.3 grease on each side (total 50 g) into joint. When replacing CV boot add more grease to joint, if
necessary.

‹› Removing and installing Snap Ring Pliers (VW 161A )
15 - Bolt
‹› 45 Nm
16 - Washer
