Installation:

Installation of camshaft is described separately from removal.
Assembly sequence differs between removal and installation.

Note:

Lubricate camshaft, bearings and bearing caps before
installation.

The bucket tappets expand when not subjected to load by the
camshaft and therefore require some time before they can be
pushed back down. This means that, when assembly sequence is
followed rapidly, even the "closed" valves are still open and in
contact with the piston.

You must adhere to the following waiting periods after installing
the camshaft and before cranking the engine back to the TDC
position.

Installation:

Install camshaft.

The bearing covers are numbered from 1 ... 5 from the
exhaust side.

Fit bearing covers.
