3 Series E36 318tds (M41) TOUR
Drive out bearing with special tool 23 1 340 / 00 5 500.
Heat the front case section in the area near the bearing to
approximately 80
°
C (hot air blower).
Install new bearing and, if necessary, drive in bearing to limit
position with special tool 23 1 450 / 00 5 500.
Clean screws and threaded bores.
Fit retaining plates (1).
Coat screws with Loctite 243 screw locking varnish and screw in.
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 23 11 17AZ.
Outer bearing race of countershaft in front case section:
Install special tool 23 1 280 in the outer bearing race (1).
