3 Series E46 316i (M43TU) SAL
Rotate engine at central bolt in direction of rotation until the first
cylinder is at firing TDC.
Locate camshaft with special tool 11 3 190 in firing TDC position
of first cylinder.
Remove chain wheel.
Caution!
Open-end wrench can slip off tensioning rail.
Slowly and carefully push back tensioning rail with open-end
wrench until strain is removed from timing chain.
Remove chain wheel from camshaft.
