Caution!

Balancing shaft housing weighs approx. 8 kg.

Release bolts in sequence 6 ... 1.

Remove balancing shaft housing and spacer rings.

Installation:

Check adapter sleeves (1) for damage and correct
installation position.

Caution!

After replacing engine block, crankshaft, main bearings or
balancing shaft housing, install the thickest spacer rings
(2.25 mm).

This will prevent damage to the balancing shaft bearings or to
the teeth due to thin 
spacer rings.

Then measure backlash and adjust with new spacer rings.

Installation:

Rotate balancing shafts until centering bores point downwards
in cylinder axis.

Locate balancing shafts in position with special tool
11 6 270.

Install spacer rings (2.25 mm).

Caution!

Only spacer rings of the same dimensions may be installed on
both sides.
