Replacing camshaft (M43TU)
Removal
Removal of camshaft is described separately from
installation. Assembly sequence differs between removal
and installation.
Remove ignition coil,
refer to 12 13 512.
Remove spark plugs,
refer to 12 12 011.
Remove cylinder head cover,
refer to 11 12 000.
Remove all finger-type rockers,
refer to 11 33 050.
Rotate engine at central bolt until the camshaft on the fourth
cylinder is at firing TDC.
Release two screws on chain wheel.
Rotate engine at central bolt in direction of rotation until the first
cylinder is at firing TDC.
