Replacing coolant temperature sensor
(M43TU)
Turn off ignition.
Location:
Coolant temperature sensor (1) is located under intake air
manifold in cylinder head on cylinder 3.
Remove intake air manifold upper section,
refer to 11 61 040.
Installation:
Check coolant level, top up coolant if necessary.
Unscrew temperature sensor (1).
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 13 62 2AZ.
Note:
It is easier to remove and install the temperature sensor if you
work with a socket (1) and two extensions (2) from the wheel
arch side.
Installation:
Read out fault memory of DME control module, check stored
fault messages, rectify faults, cancel fault memory.
