3 Series E46 316i (M43TU) SAL
Remove circlip (1).
Release screws on transmission extension housing (1).
Tightening torque, 24 11 1AZ.
Caution!
To prevent the output shaft and planetary gear set from also being
pulled out, it is absolutely essential to observe the following
procedure:
Press shaft (2) in direction of transmission.
Carefully pull off transmission extension housing (1).
Replace gasket between transmission housing (1) and end cover.
Caution!
Existing shim (2) remains fitted and is not recalculated.
