3 Series E46 330xi (M54) SAL
Remove left engine mount.
Install special tool 23 0 230 in place of engine mount.
Note:
Secure engine and transmission in inclined position in order to
ensure access to top right transmission threaded connection.
Unscrew mounting screw.
Press vacuum tank (1) for exhaust flap control to one side.
Unfasten screws.
Tightening torque, 23 00 1AZ .
Important!
Do not allow the transmission to hang off from the
transmission input shaft as this will deform the clutch plate.
Pull out the transmission towards rear as far as possible, turn
counterclockwise and remove.
Installation:
Check that dowel sleeves are correctly seated.
Replace damaged dowel sleeves.
Ensure correct position of cover plate.
