Installing replacement transmission (S6S
420G SMG)
Important!
After completing work:
-
Proceed according to test program, refer to "Service
Functions" in DIS Tester.

Check transmission oil level.
-
Check fluid level in hydraulic system.
-
Read out fault memory and clear entered faults.
Important!
A running-in check complete with an oil change is required
after 2000 km.
Use only the approved gear oil in this manual transmission.
Failure to comply with this requirement will result in serious
damage to the transmission.
Recycling:
Catch and dispose of escaping transmission fluid.
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Drain gear oil at oil drain plug.
Tightening torque, 23 00 4AZ
.
•
Depressurize hydraulic system.
•
Remove transmission.
